Bet the Dane thinks he's a little bitty lap dog, right?  We had a Doby/Rott 
mix that weight a little over 200 lbs. that thought he was a little 20 lb.

Sounds like the neighbor's bird and your's were just trying to get more 
acquainted (sp?) with each other. I know what you mean about the screeching, 
though.  We had a female conure right after my husband and I got married, and 
that bird could really raise a ruckus.  I'm not sure what sort of conure she 
was, but she was green with a bright orange spot on her forehead and small 
orange cheekpatches.

But did you ever think of just having the rats?  They can really be 
ilarious.
They only live about 3 years at the most though, and do have a tendency 
oward
cancer.  We've lost 2 of ours in the past couple of days, but we're not 
replacing them at the present.  When these are gone, if not before, we'd like 
to get a couple of birds.

I'll be sure to look for them.  There's one book that I really want to take 
the time to look at.  It's a reference book, so unfortunately I can't check 
t
out, but I will take time to look through it really good.  I may just come 
back here with a ton of questions to ask...:)
