ML> DA> I've been following Dole's sound bites. Dan is right on this
ML>one.
ML> Not so. The statement I dispute is "he said..". Dole has been
ML>beating around the bush on this, and some media have INTERPRETED his
ML>comments to mean this, but he has not SAID he would veto an aw ban
ML>repeal. He has also NOT come out and said he would sign it either.
ML>What he would do is ONLY a guess at this point.
ML>
ML> He ain't my favorite by a long shot, but he looks better than
ML>Clinton.
ML> Note that I reserve the right to change my mind any time between
ML>now and Nov 5....there is a lot of convention nad campaign to go.
Max, over in Rime I recently read a speach by Dole to I believe the
Virginia police organizations. Not only did he actually say he would
veto it, he proposed many more gun control laws, all based on Virginias
(it was a Virginia speach). Further background investigations, more
paperwork, more restrictions on who can own a gun, more types outlawed.
He was in fact quite clear in his anti-gun stance.
The fact is (and it's fact, not opinion) Dole is vehomently anti-gun.
Oh yea, one other thing, by his own words, the second amendment applies
to the _military_, not citizens.
