Some day Rich they might tempt you down from your ivory tower with food or
a picture of Gate's butt & you might realise that the majority of the
corp apps are there to create &/or manipulate existing data.

Till then gaze out across the fields where unicorns are skipping hoof in
hand with elves & pixies.

Most apps load up a fair chucnk of "non local code" wether it's
an XML parser or a db driver. If you look at many mnay many apps you might
well have 100KB of local code & 20,000kb of suppling libs.

Now I accept maths may not be your strongest suit but if I had 1 apple
& I had 20 oranges one could say the majority of the fruit was oranges.

Anyone who writes any .net or java app has this in spades. In order to host
say an ASP.net page taking in XML & connecting to say Oracle, how much
code would be in my asp.net page vs how much in the "supporting
libs"?
