Patience?
Win95 runs very well here. Consider this: at Comdex, I played
with a Pentium 200MMX machine from Gateway. Very few things
installed, just your basic Win95 setup for demo purposes.
It took at least twice as long to boot as mine does, and mine
loads all sorts of drivers and apps and whatnot, and an anti-virus
program.
So if that's the sort of performance hit I'd take with a 'faster'
CPU, no thanks.
More to the point, my 486 runs Duke Nukem 3d just fine, along with
most everything else I throw at it, even things that say they
"require" a pentium.
