I understand you are not a programmer. I don't fault you for that. =
You are latching on to buzz words and I do fault you for that. Things =
are simple. You want an answer to the question "What is .NET designed
= for then?" expect an good answer will be something like "to be
useful" = as you would expect for most tools not one full of buzz
words.

If my questions are big picture its because I'm not a programmer Rich. =
Yes I was trying to understand what I needed to understand. Now I'm =
trying to understand your reaction. I think I've got a better handle on =
the latter than the original questions. So never mind. I didn't direct =
my question to you originally Rich. If you don't want to answer it then =
stay the hell out of it. I only directed a message to you based upon =
your posting a message that included a direct reference to me. A =
reference that implied something that wasn't and isn't true. When you =
jumped in with your first non-answer I ignored it basically. I would =
have continued to ignore it and you, if you hadn't brought me into it by =
name. Hopefully we can get back to that.

  Sheesh

They are. It doesn't. There are your answers.

I still disagree that you are trying to understand. Your =
interest is shallow. You are focusing on buzz words and demonstrating =
that you don't understand at all. Look no further than your message = below.

Well you assumed incorrectly, I was trying to understand. John =

question (not necessarily for you as you seem to show no signs = of
changing based upon your statements below).

Why isn't providing security and cleaning up memory stuff and =
garbage collection part of the operating system itself?? Why does the =
operating system need a software box to encapsulate these abilities for =
programs running inside the box?

I'm not attacking you. At worst I targeted the one post in =

his other posts I don't believe he really cares and I don't care = enough
to suggest the obvious, visit www.microsoft.com and spend a = minute
looking for an answer.
