Hallo Joe
Thanks for the reply
HO->Could you tell us what sort of equipment you need or they
HO->got
HO->for this Tech Diving.
JD> They usually have 2 120 cu ft tanks on their backs. Then there are the
JD> pony bottles and deco mixes that they carry. Add to
JD> this 2 or 3 regulators some reels with line and that is pretty much it.
I do have a 120 cu ft Tank 30 Bar with a Din fitting, The shops dont like
them here they charge $1 dollar extra per fill so I had to get a 96 Cu ft
Tank as the normal diving here is about 1 hour and I would have 1/4 tank left
the average depth here is 60 feet so you dont have to worry about staying to
long under water just do 5 at 5 meters and you have no problem.
JD> I can understand why the dive shops love it. The owner
JD> of the shop where I help tells me that they like this
JD> deep diving because they get to see wrecks that no one
JD> else has been on. My response is that I would have to see a wreck that
JD> hasn't been picked over before I made my decision.
Most of the wrecks here are at 50 to 60 feet as most are wreckt on reefs.
JD> It appears to be a very equipment intensive sport, and
JD> I don't have the ambition or money to try it.
None of the shops support deep diving here, they dont sell the gear
I must have ago and ask them about it, but the way I see things they want you
in the water like cattle and back to the shore for the next load.(ASP)
The shops here have alot to learn, after reading some of the reports you read
here.( like Another tank SIR, and help you put on the dive gear?)
Thanks again Joe, There must be some great diving over there.
I'm the Vice presedent of the Marritime Archaeological Assn, with the West
Australian Museum and get to dive at all the great ship wrecks here
But would love to have a dive over in Florida.
Cheers Harry.
