Apparently the reactionary right-wing in Kansas isn't satisfied
with it's argument to teach Genesis in public school. Now they
want to redefine what "Science" is, to legitimize "Creation
Science".
Seems to me I recall a Supreme Court decision a couple decades
ago when this was tried, that said "Science is what scientists
do, and if they don't recognize something as 'science' then you
can't legislatively label it science and teach it in the
classroom." But then, judges can't define obscenity, only
recognize it when they see it.
Can we do any better? Can we define science, without temporizing
as "that which we use the scientific method to study."
