KJ> Oh, yes, I know a couple in Redford who have SIX of them.
I just can't imagine having that many of them. 6??? They must have plenty of
room. Either that, or they don't have any kids...:)))) In that case, the
birds would be just like kids. We had a couple of dogs that were like that.
KJ> Ceramic tile floors with drains to hose the room down. Anything else and
KJ> the macaws will chew it to shreds!
Never thought about ceramic tile floors. What would you put in there for
hem
to chew on that wouldn't hurt them? I mean, do they chew on tree branches or
what? I must admit that I really don't know that much about birds. The only
one that we had was that conure that was given to us when Mark and I got
married. Still not sure if it was just a coincidence or what...:) I sorta
ot
used to her, though. It wouldn't have been so bad but both of us were
orking
full time and the kids were in school all day, so the poor bird was home all
by herself most of the day.
KJ> I have 17 birds here--5 Jenday conures, 3 Cherry-headed conures, and
KJ> 9 cockatiels. Used to have African Ringnecks, but they were NOT happy
KJ> here, so I sold them to someone who had more Asiatic bird experience.
KJ> After that, I've decided that sticking to one or two species is best,
KJ> rather than branching out in every direction.
I didn't know there were different kinds of conures. I don't know what kind
Connie was. She was green with a red patch on the top front of her head. I
don't know if that helps or not. I suppose that you know from experience how
noisy conures can be....:) Imagine having one and living in a duplex that
wasn't the best insulated house in the world...:) I really wouldn't mind
having a bird or two. We were thinking about getting a couple of lovebirds,
but really haven't made the big step yet. I'm mostly waiting for most of our
pet rats to pass on before we get any more pets at the moment...:) Mark
ould
love to get a pair (male and female). We may just get go ahead and get a
air
one of these days without waiting on the rats...:)
KJ> I also realize I've failed to introduce myself--I'm Kathy, the echo
KJ> moderator! What sort(s) of birds do you have?
I didn't really think about you being the moderator. I was just glad that
someone was answering some of my questions...:) Like I said, we don't have
any birds yet, but Mark's mom has a cockatiel named Billy, who jabbers a lot
once you get him started...:)
