You fix it the same way you fix anything in an NVRAM profile that is
not what you want:  From terminal mode, type:
AT&F&W1 
You've just stored the factory default in NVRAM.
Then, using the appropriate commands, configure the modem the way you
want it, with the last command on the string being &W.
That will save _that_ configuration into NVRAM.
Your init remains ATZ.
