I would like to talk to others that have made the TTY to RS-232 mod. on
the AEA CP-1. I have gotten the service bulletin from AEA showing a
substitution for the 15150 and 15152 chips, using 1488 and 1489. I have put
the small board together, and installed the appropriate resistors, the diode
and Q12.
I did get it to work on receive, but it does'nt switch to transmit. With
Q12 in line, it switches in and out of transmit when receiving strong
signals. Alot like VOX kicking in and out. With R124 (47k) shorted, it stays
stable enough to receive.
I have to use a 9-pin connector to hook it up to the computer, and I don't
know the pin-out of those. I do know the pin-out for the 25 Db. I used pins
1-8 plus pin 20, then used the same pins in the same order on the 9-pin,
switching 20 for 9. I have a feeling this is were my problem is.
So if anyone has done that modification, or knows the pin-out of the 9-pin
D-subs. I sure would like to get in touch with you. Thanks.
