All that means is you will have unhappy customers if your "sales
rep" (i.e. the manager) is a boob.  These sort of things have a way of
working themselves out over time.

Its not uncommon for defacto service organizations to forget that they
aren't the center of the universe and exist because of the needs of others,
not some manifest destiny.

The ultimate reward for these sort of viewpoint inversions is usually
failures of some sort or eventual elimination when some outside business
flow analyst consultant notices their resource drain doesn't correlate in
any meaningful way with the business goals of the organization as a whole
