You are missing a valid point he is making here.  A person making the mods 
will work with equipment he wants and owns.  If that person then chooses to 
make the modifications available to others, that is his decision.  If he 
chooses not to work on certain pieces of equipment, that is also his 
decision.  There is no requirement for anyone to make modifications in the 
first place, nor to make them available to others.
Since you own the equipment, why don't you work out the mods yourself and 
make them available to others with the same equipment?
