Thanks for the sypathetic words.  Is this a diving cruise or one that
will keep you high and dry?  I think I recall someone else on the conf.
saying that they were going on a cruise but that it held no diving.  So
close and yet so far.
    The snow has really effected the ice diving over here this year.
The ice got a slow start due to the early, and heavy, snow cover and
still has sub normal thickness on many bodies of water and several thin
spots that create danger zones.  Many people are nervous about going out
on the ice, although for the most part it is now safe.  The hard part
for me though has been the inability to get anyone to go down to the
ocean to dive either.  Conditions have not been ideal but the seas have
not been as rough as I've seen in the past when we got in some fine
winter diving.  Oh well, maybe I'll be able to get the pool hockey
league going yet, it's better than nothing.
