You'd be surprised. Many many cases where frankly an old scrap of cobol
does things which surprises others given a skillfull developer.

Pshaaw. Politics is what gets the funding for the project in the first
place. Politics then determines the scope & the timeframe & thus
the deliverables.

Politics then comes into play when the projects pushes at the initial envlope
