yes, that is common in all message maint tools...

right... i do the same except that i have chosen 730 days as the criteria
in most of my areas... some have 0 for their parameter which means they
never get purged...

several mail tossing packages do have such a setting but i've never been
aware of it working on areas maintained by date... what would be the
reason? the first toss of the day would purge the old messages and then it
would very possibly be a wasted process for the rest of the day...
