OK, suppose you reply with "LDAP" and expect the person with the
question to go type "LDAP" into Google and wade through however
many articles pop up to find out how to do what they want. How does that
provide more than the person would get by typing "global ID" or
"single sign-on" (which is I guess what you mean by "global
ID") into Google? Other people here consider it appropriate to
actually answer each other's questions. People post questions here because
we know each other and know whose answers on which topics can be relied on.
