this is because the "door" captures the control messages and
handles them without passing them on to the public message area... it
always happens if the door doesn't recognize the TO: field name... in this
case, DOC's Place is looking for control messages addressed to WCMAIL and
so will not see those addressed TO: 3WCMAIL as these particular ones
are/were...
