i'm not aware of any system that purges on the fly by date... only by
numbers... the problem with that is that, for instance, if you have the
number set for 50 and you get 100 new ones, then you loose all of them
except the last 50 and you might not have even looked at the 50 that were
already there and you never get a chance to even look at the first 50 that
arrived new in that batch of 100...
