Most illegal immigrants arriving by sea are intercepted before 
they reach Australia's "migration zone", & are not permitted 
to land. The bulk apparently arrive legally by air, with
passports & visas, & simply don't go home again.

Genuine refugees are permitted to stay, after being "processed" -
illegal immigrants are placed in detention centres & deported.
