I didn't realize that there was some "unwritten rule" that a person can only 
research information on things which are "popular" hmm.. interesting concept.
Your point noted, about the ICOM r-9000 not being a popular model, but that
is absolutely no excuse whatsoever to not publish information on how to
"mod" it. In fact that excuse you gave holds no "water" whatsoever. You'd 
ell
just as many books by publishing R-9000 mods as you would by not including 
that info in your book.   The proper answer would be that most authors simply 
cant afford an R-9000, it has nothing to do with what the most common models
of scanners are..   People who publish scanner mod books, do so for the 
odels
which they have in their posession, they dont usually go out to the stores 
with the intent of buying the cheapest most common models available.
