I got rid of

Only one, the "Active Protection" thing, which is supposed to
shut down the hard drive right before the laptop hits the floor .
The rest of the included apps/applets did seem like junk so I removed them.
I did, however, recently install the latest version of the "Software
Installer", which works much better than the version that came with
the machine.
