John was heard muttering to Dave Appel
about .45 predudice
-> The other case was where a man died from 4 hits of a .25 acp to both
-> front chest and his back. Again the media was not clear on how many
-> shots were where.
->
-> And yet plenty of Emergency Rooms are able to save people with
-> multiple .380acp and 9mm wounds.
JP> Proving once again how vital shot placement really is.
The choices we make when we decide an appropriate level of armament for
defensive purposes are always going to be the result of compromise.
To defend our home we could hire an armored cavalry division. That
would keep the bad guys out, but not many budgets could stand that
strain. Plus, where do they all park?
As individuals we have to choose between caliber, size, budget, methods
of concealment etc...
Point being that what really matters is whether what we've chosen is
going to effect the required objective: stopping an attack (presuming
that's the intent in civilian defense situations).
If you're attacked and you defend yourself with one of what some
sneeringly refer to as a "minor caliber," I'm gonna suggest that if the
attacker(s) stop(s) then you've met your objective. And that doesn't
particularly matter if the attacker ends up dead, wounded, or running
down the road _away_ from you.
"You are not entitled to an opinion." An opinion
is what you have when you don't have any facts.
When you have the facts, you don't need an opinion."
... Pretend you're a mugger, John, I wanna try something.
