Randall, Actually, no. The problem with making recipients of charity irresponsible is because government charity is handed out in demeaning, dehumanizing ways. Jesus never taught us to look down on the needy. The government does, even as it gives them money. Giving help to someone in need doesn't necessarily involve stripping them of their self-esteem; our way of doing it does.
