Ask him for the names and phone numbers of some of the customers he worked
for,
and then talk to them. You might check with your local Better Business
Bureau
after you've settled on the one you want and ask them if they have any
complaints on file about him.
Roofing is pretty much a blind sort of business, and you probably need to
rely
on trust and the recommendations of others if you don't know how to evaluate
that kind of work yourself.
My father was a roofer and sheet metal mechanic throughout all of his adult
life, and I spent a lot of hours helping him during my youth, especially
during
the summer months.
