 This makes things harder - a better solution might be DNS / Active
directory where the users connect to the server by name.    Someone would
change the name to IP address mapping when it is necessary to failover. The
challenge here is to see if there would be a way to defeat client DNS cache
with a short timeout for this name lookup.
