Finally...  "darkjourney"  has come back to

Jericho (was going well, then got stuck as Stpeh's lap dog and has
been pushed at a lower level since)

Edge (this one was going well before his neck injury)

Benoit (limited mic skills?  He's better on the stick than Lesner)

Eddie Guerrero (receiving a decent tag push, but awful gimmick)

Matt Hardy 

Tajiri

John Cena (lose the rap gimmic before he becomes another Rikishi - hot
for 6-8 months, then boring)

What are the things that every person on that list have in common?  

1) All of them are good WRESTLERS
2) they all have good to great mic skills (or in Benoit's and Tajiri's
cases, they have tremendous physical presence and charisma that fans
react to)
3) All have proved that they can work with a variety of opponents and
make a good match with anyone

Angle USED to be on this list...  if they don't screw around, he
should be at the next (top) level after his comeback if his neck holds
up.  He's been this close before, and got yanked back down every time.

Randy Orton will be on the list if he proves he can work with a
variety of opponents.  

Sean O'Hare is in exactly the same position as Orton.

Lesner will be back on the list if they don't stop making him so goofy
out of the ring.

Team Angle has all the physical tools to be on this list, and if they
continue to develop on the mic, they will take  their places in the
list.

WWE is in good shape for the next 1.5 - 4 years if they can continue
to build all the people on this list and actually let some of them
take the next step without yanking on the rug under their feet,
causing them to stumble.

Heyman was doing an awesome job of building future stars on Smackdown
(particularly in tags), blending them with decent to good workers and
people that the fans care about now (Chavito, Rhyno and Rey spring
immediately to mind) to give all of them the rub off of each other,
much like HHH and Rocky did to/for each other.

If they could sign (and use correctly) AJ Styles (a bit weak on the
mic, but otherwise he would belong on the list), Chris Harris (ditto),
Christopher Daniels (a little small, he has all the other skills) and
Malice/Gigantes/The Wall (as the "monster" of the group, taking the
future position of Albert/Big Slow), they would have a core group of
wrestlers that ould be superstars for YEARS.

All this is just IMO...
