This is exactly what I described. It disables the adapter. Enable =
it to reverse. Nothing else needs to be done to enable it. You claimed =
you had to enable the radio elsewhere. That sounds like a device =
specific problem. I have never had to do this with any wireless = adapter.

Richt click my network, properties, right click a network connectoid =
with a device name that says wireless and pick disable. I never said =
checkbox, you did.

What are you whining about? Windows doesn't have a checkbox for =
enabling or disabling wireless. It sounds like you disabled the = wireless
adapter which is the right thing to do on many laptops. It's = what I did
until I got a laptop with a switch on the case to disable the = radio.
Enabling the adapter turned everything back on. Even on the = laptop with
the switch it behaves this way. If you have a laptop that = didn't do that
then I expect you have an issue with the adapter or the = adapter driver.

and it has spent every day since then slowly changing things back =

Latest change I found, if you go into my network places properties =
and
disable wireless on a laptop, when you re-enable it the hardware =
is turned
off, what the heck is that all about? On W2K I can just =
enable/disable at
will and one undoes the other but with XP to enable it again I =
have to first
enable then go find the stupid hardware setting and change the =
radio back to
      ON..
