Where did it come from, and where would I find it ?

After hearing the Nicean creed, I was very suspicious of it, and
consequently got some of the history.

How so called Christian churches can hold to the creed, when the history
showed the imprisonments, murders, blackmail and other unchristian
behaviour that was used to get agreement to it (over 50-100 years from
memory) is beyond me.  Hypocrisy at its best !! :-(
