Nope. I _think_ I read about it in one of the scanner modification handbooks
written by my distant cousin Bill Cheek, or perhaps his newsletter, or some
other similar newsletter, magazine, book, etc. My mind has collected
entirely too much trivia over the years. If I run across the mod, I'll let
you know.
Please note that I don't think much of such a modification, as in effect
you're paying more to hear less (this is one of the few times that Bill
agrees with me). Your needs must be different than mine.

It's likely, especially if reviews are showing up in magazines. On the other
hand, I don't know exactly which scanner you're referring to and am just
speaking in general terms.
CB> So this is something I have to put together? If I need/want it I'm sure
 CB> I could do it.
If it's the type of mod I'm thinking of, you'll have to put it together
yourself. It's not brain surgery, but neither is it for those of us with
failing eyesight and arthritic fingers.
CB> Thanks Troy. I just wish I could find a place around here that sold
CB> scanners other than RS so I can do a little comparison shopping.
I wish I had that, too. The nearest decent radio shop is over an hour away.
Radio Shack is only 30 minutes.
