Thanks much Ken I'll give it a whirl as nothing else seems to work
with the H.P. drive in 16 bit DOS.
If it doesn't work I'll either just snag a large drive next month
and use the 32 bit OEM driver which works fine or swap
the Acer drive for the H.P. as I've the correct driver for that model
in both 16 and 32 bit DOS.

Oops, had a thought and did a dir/s \ on that driver file name 
and already have tried that driver and retain it on my local drive.
Thanks anyway, it's nice to know my choices were among
the best possible.
