subject: MSGED 4.20 beta 3

Hello all ...

This is my first mail in this area, linked only a few days ago.

I t semm, there is not much traffic in this area, so I can't look
out for mails, to find the answers to my questions ...

First of all: I'm a USER of MSGED, not a programmer :-)

Since I know, that my registered timEd will not work after year 2000 I
looked out for an alternate reader an I found: taadaaah MSGED :)

I'm using now ver. 4.20 b 3 (OS2) an I have some questions and problems,
perhaps any of You is able to give me a hint or answers ...

1. problem: MSDED traps if there are more than xx mails (*.MSG) in one area

        04-20-1998  22:01:15  SYS3175  PID 16a5
        C:\NET\MSGED\MSGEDP.EXE

        P1=00000001  P2=000004ce  P3=XXXXXXXX  P4=XXXXXXXX
        EAX=0005eaec  EBX=000004ce  ECX=000004cc  EDX=000005b3
        ESI=00000c08  EDI=0005eaec
        DS=0053  DSACC=d0f3  DSLIM=1bffffff
        ES=0053  ESACC=d0f3  ESLIM=1bffffff
        FS=150b  FSACC=00f3  FSLIM=00000030
        GS=0000  GSACC=****  GSLIM=********
        CS:EIP=005b:00037ac2  CSACC=d0df  CSLIM=1bffffff
        SS:ESP=0053:00073b70  SSACC=d0f3  SSLIM=1bffffff
        EBP=00073b7c  FLG=00012283

        MSGEDP.EXE 0001:00027ac2

   RESOLVE: I moved older mails to another Area (Squish), so that the count
   of mails is below 100.

   Now it's o.k., but I will have problems in future, if the mails got more ...

2. MSGED seems to have problems reading the file 'lastread', if this file
   was created by another program (timEd?)

Tomorrow I will write more, no I have to go working :-(

Bye/2
