I worked with a guy who did that fix once.  When he got done, he said there 
was as much slop as before.  When asked, the Ford counter guy said that was 
the way they were made.  This is 2nd hand info, take it for what it's worth.  
This isn't to say that a 30 year old truck needing king pins, and doing a fix 
on it isn't going to improve it.
