They hang onto him because they can't trade him (not even considering
he has a no trade clause) without eating a bunch of the contract. This
is his final year, though, and IF they keep him after, it will be at a
greatly reduced rate, and only then if he gets no other interest from
other clubs.
I would like to see how Lee Stevens handles 1B full time.
