Jackson was heard babbling to All
about New Moderator or The Rules
JD> As some of you may have gathered, I am assuming the moderatorship of
JD> the ARMED echo effective at midnight tonight. Mike will be the
"ARMED"? We're still labeled as RKBA, do we need to change something?
JD> I have heard scetchy reports of two instances where armed law abiding
JD> citizens (ALAC's) defended themselves successfully. The first involved
JD> a convenience store clerk that shot *two* armed robbers in a gun
JD> battle when they attempted to rob his store. The second involved a
JD> successful defense of self and home in a home invasion situation. This
JD> last was in Nashville, but I'm not sure where the first occurred. If
JD> anyone has heard anything more, I would appreciate hearing it here.
JD> The score was three perps dead, and no one else injured.
Good. Score a couple for our side.
I can't address those examples, but have a couple of local ones.
About a month ago a convenience store owner shot and killed an armed
robber in Phoenix. Score one more for our side.
About two weeks ago, two fellows who'd just gotten their Arizona CCW's
made a stop at a local bank ATM. While they were transacting business
two fellows in an older car came up and parked, but stayed in their car.
Our heros got their cash and returned to their truck. As they had been
taught by their CCW instructor (charming fellow, and good looking too)
they were in Yellow and were aware of what was happening in their
surroundings, and were aware of the two yutes sitting in their car in
the parking lot.
Before they'd gotten back to their truck a lady drove in, got out of
her car and headed for the cash machine. (Needles to say she was
oblivious...) Meanwhile yutes are watching our heros, and the lady
doing her thing.
Sonny and LB got into their truck and remained, simply watching what
might transpire. They discussed the situation and agreed that it was
just enough outta kilter to warrant attention. With the awareness that
they were being observed, the yutes decided to head out.
Did our heroes avert an attack? We'll probably never know. Not
something even worthy of a mention to the police, for most
folks...although it wouldn't have been a _bad_ idea. And it _is_
possible that the yutes were simply construction workers intimidated by
these two old retired gentlemen...
An armed society is a _safer_ society.
JD> Welcome to ARMED
Thankee.
