If RS-232 levels are needed, its easy enough to make up a three wire
cable for a RS-232-level USB adapter with a 3.5mm stereo jack on the end.
I started with the AXE027 adapter because I already have one.
Today I used a screwdriver to short the segments. Its also easy enough to
short the connections on spare socket and hang the scope on that to check
whether the signal is inverted or not.
