~> Jeff now 'owns' Edge Online -- Reading the rules he posted on his site is ~> an amazing experience. Yeah, I just saw the new listing this morning! Interesting, since Steve Asher's listing hadn't expired. I guess the options are: (1) Asher turned it over to "Jeff Snyder" voluntarily (that is suggested in a post, but interestingly not a post directly FROM Steve Asher!), (2) he did a Lofaso/Klahn type of hijacking by trying to guess the password, except unlike them he didn't fail, or (3) "Snyder" saw my comment about Steve Quarrella posting a sample listing (complete with a suggested password) to Asher eleven years ago, maybe Asher used it as-is and never changed the password, "Snyder" dug through archives to find it, and it worked. It is too bad you do poetry instead of mysteries. You could build a fascinating story out of all this. A bit of trivia for you to ponder: "Jeff Snyder" (supposedly from Guam) says he has used the handle "wordweaver" since at least 1997. "Bill Kochman" (also claiming to be from Guam) uses the same handle. "Snyder" says he created the EDGE echo in 1997. "Kochman" actually did that. And "Snyder" says he is big on UFO and alien stories. It all looks just a bit strange. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:124/311) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 222/2 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 690/734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 124/311 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
