OK. That example is not quite the right syntax ("One or more Indexing
Service query parameters are incorrect"). However, the error message
confirms your point that the query is being processed rather than simply
looked up verbatim.
Entering just:
$contents builds
worked, and quickly returned various hits (some of which just had
"build", so it is doing stemming - good).
I'm not concerned about the actual syntax to make this work. I was just
wanting to find out why the Search Companion did not actually use the
indexing service.
