You need cultural structure. This might be a clue: Cognitive science is
earnestly striving to determine if human brains are hard-wired to
search/accept
a 'higher being' ... to being morality, comity, community, to society and
purpose to the individual. As this is almost universally experienced and in
so many different ways I believe they all should be respected. (Which is
why, for my heresy, I was just bounced from a bible-thumpers echo :-) I
enjoy and read the bible most every day and enjoy it, as it is part of our
literary heritage, our culture. So is dissent. Vile personal attacks
against those who differ is not the manner of civilized people. You do know
that, I'm sure. Which makes your motives questionable. Not believing in God
is one thing. Vile, smug hostility to those that do is another. IMHO, your
are merely rebelling at the constraints of your earlier Catholic
