We did that at first.  Then there were the $100 bucks and "I guarantee
you it'll pass smog" shops.  Done that a few times.  Now days, the smog 
machine is linked via dataline to the DMV in Sacramento.  The only way to 
cheat it now is to shove the exhaust pipe sniffer up an exhaust pipe of a car 
that you know will pass Smog Chek II and enter the data for your car.
Seen that done a few times.  I have this mechanic friend right across the 
parking lot who has one of the older smog chek machines.  I can put my car on 
it and test it before I go to the chek station.  That's a guarantee that I 
won't be visiting the Smog Chek Referee....

I let um drive the Monte Carlo, but nobody drives my Camaro...And I don't 
leave it for anything.  I'm in the bay with the smog chek guy too...
