HO->Could you tell us what sort of equipment you need or they
HO->got
HO->for this Tech Diving.
HO->I did notice that a few divers here seem to have the latest
HO->equipment
HO->thy take hours to get into the water (showing off) and are
HO->out in a flash
HO->again, then parade around showing off.
HO->We are a few jears behind here but I'm interested on what is
HO->availeble.
They usually have 2 120 cu ft tanks on their backs. Then there are the pony
bottles and deco mixes that they carry. Add to this 2 or 3 regulators some
reels with line and that is pretty much it. I can understand why the dive
shops love it. The owner of the shop where I help tells me that they like
this deep diving because they get to see wrecks that no one else has been on.
My response is that I would have to see a wreck that hasn't been picked over
before I made my decision. These tech divers are forever practicing but I
never see them doing any real dives other than the quarries. It appears to
be a very equipment intensive sport, and I don't have the ambition or money
to try it. Most of the diving up here is less than 100 feet max with the
average being maybe 60 feet. We have some impressive wrecks in Lake Erie and
I've really enjoyed diving them. It may be a bit cold requiring a dry suit
for depths over 40 feet, but I do enjoy the dives.
