* EleBBS Support List Hi Zomor, f>> Many support RA (EleBBS) Directly, while others like Ziplab need >> some PCboard-to-RA dropfile conversions done to work. >> >> They work with the "Upload Scan" function in elconfig > options > files > Would any of the above work with longfilenames? They are all DOS programs so they would not understand long filenames themselfs, but assuming EleBBS is passing the name of the uploaded file(s) using the shortened DOS 8.3 filename format there should be no problems with an archive tester testing/virus scanning/repacking etc, but I imagine there would be problems if they try to add the FILE_ID.DIZ description into the FDB if its a long filename.... but I've never tried it. > I think that maybe an issue for most people... I would be surprised if most sysops use long filenames. Don't most shareware libraries still use 8.3 style filenames? > Could a batchfile be used or script to extract a file_id.diz from an > archive? Something like that should not be too difficult for someone (ie: Scott) to add as a feature in EleBBS. I think it would be a great feature to build into EleBBS itself. There might be some Upload Scanners that currently export the DIZ to a files.bbs and perhaps you could have a batch file that runs the scanner and then runs ELEFILE IMPORT to move it into the FDB.
