TW> I've had a Compuserve account for years. I couldn't afford to use it

You're probably already well aware of this, but others here may
not be: AOL wanted CompuServe, in part, because of CompuServe's
large network of dial-up nodes. Presumably, AOL wants to use
some of this dial-in capacity to help satisfy AOL's own needs.
While I've been pleased with CompuServe's connections (both
direct to their network and via Tymnet) ever since I first
joined several years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if busy signals
on the CompuServe dial-in network become more common by and by.
(I get around these problems by connecting to CompuServe via my
ISP. This won't work for all members, of course, since many
people use CompuServe itself to connect to the Internet, instead
of the other way around.)
