subject: Where`s the beef?

Everything else has been discontinued, why not the Jaguar...Every
brilliant idea Atari has come out with has usually glided 10 feet off
the ground for a while and then crashed and burned. One thing Sam
Tramiel never learned after coming over to Atari was one simple truth of
the home computer/home video game market and that is "You have to spend
money to make money" Atari under the Tramiels has never advertised on
TV in a any big way. Video games are a youth driven market and kids
only ask their parents to buy those products they see advertised on
Saturday morning and after school television. Sega and Nintendo
saturate the airwaves with commercials and hence rule the home gaming
world.

The Lynx was an incredibly powerful and excellent gaming machine, the
games are colorful and vibrant, and beaming with gaming excitement, but
it wasn't advertised, and when it was advertised the commercials were
few and far between and some were just too cartoon-like to win over
young minds...

The problem beyond the advertising aspect is that the games for the
Jaguar have not dazzled the game critics, reviews speak of gliches and
difficult game action or controls as well as most ending with things
like "This game is a nice try but does not live up to the power hidden
within the Jaguar hardware"

Let's just hope that a few people remember how to fix ST's, Lynx's and
Jaguars, or it's door stop and paperweight time.\
