My computer environment is 486DX2-66 with 16MB RAM
operating system is MS-DOS 6.20 and 4DOS 5.52A
The compress tools are
JAR 1.01
ARJ 2.50a
RAR 2.00
PKZIP 2.04g
LHA 2.55b
Testing files are 3 EXE files from the JAR101BX.EXE (JAR.EXE
JAR32.EXE and REARJ.EXE). My commands are
(timer are the internal command of 4DOS, read the 4DOS manual for
more detail)
timer ^ jar a jar *.exe ^ timer
timer ^ rar a jar *.exe ^ timer
timer ^ pkzip jar *.exe ^ timer
timer ^ arj a jar *.exe ^ timer
timer ^ lha a jar *.exe ^ timer
Results are
