RJT> My tastes always tended toward the harder stuff, though.
ARS> How long here had been the last discussion about what is SF and
ARS> what is fantasy? ;)
I'm not sure how I'd make that distinction myself, except for being able
to point at something and say it's one or the other. :-)

I don't think that's quite it...
ARS> Currently I'm close to: fantasy has Magick or some creatures from
ARS> fairy-tales and such, SF doesn't.
I think fantasy could perhaps be considered a subset of SF. Maybe.
ARS> I've only read one such fantasy book ("The Fire Rose" by Mercedes

ARS> SF...
I would tend to agree that Mercedes Lackey is fantasy, though it's been a
while since I read any of her stuff.
ARS> Hell, Stephen King's books must be fantasy, too, I guess? Or
ARS> what?
Yes, I would say so.
ARS> That's because, before recently, I was thinking that fantasy was
ARS> just what Tolkien did.
Tolkien seems to be at the head of a lot of it, for sure. It _is_ an
interesting question, and one that I haven't seen raised for quite some
time in here.

Works for me! :-)
