In Denmark the police force have turn it's old 88 mhz gear down,
one reason is that it could not use crypto, now they got a new system
in 165 mhz area with data traffic, voice traffic with and with out crypto.
When they are using crypto, it sounds like white noise, and ther are no
way that you can decode it!
They use a 12 ciffer ground code that chance the 12 ciffer every day,
and if you steal one of ther radio's they simply send out a signal that
 make the radio dead !
In my city they are 4 repeater in use,the police force in Aarhus have
2 main channels in duplex, and 8 channels simplex.
All ther radios are Motorola 25 watt and ther hand held radio's are
 about 5-7 watt.
All the patrol cars have a voicenumber, but they also have a digital call
code,so if they want to talk with car no 42 011 they simply type it and
the radio change it self to that channel they use for sellcall.
When the traffic is over, the radio automatic goes back to main channel.
