It's not just that... In the military, there are several
factors which affect one's success; one of those things is
the military background of the individual.  So long as the
Citadel was denied women, they were cut off from this part
of the "background".  Secondly, contacts or the "old boy"
network; being denied contact at the Citadel with the
attendees limited the future prospects of women in the
military... The whole thrust of this is that the segregation
DAMAGED the women in a demonstratable fashion, AND that no
other facility could, in fact, be equivilent (this was the
concept which overthrew segregation in general).  This is 
NOT the case with regard to single-sex classes, and, I 
suspect, if such cases reach the high courts, they may be 
found to be ok, as they do not DAMAGE anyone...
