I've used the Grisoft (AVG paid version) software until an update gave me
problems several months ago (high cpu utilization) . I still have a valid
license so I may eventually try it again. I never did like it's GUI though.

Right now SBC Yahoo provides me with a free version of the CA
anti-virus/spyware suite so I'll settle for that. I also went back to the
5.5 branch of ZoneAlarm. I'll be a bit gun-shy of future upgrades.
