If you are running almost any flavor of windows, except for perhas XP, then
try typing 'qbasic' from any command prompt, and see what happens.

This is an interpretor, not a compiler. But, it will allow you to run
source code, except in certain circumstances.

If you are looking for a compiler, then I suggest looking for one on ebay,
or some other place that might carry older software.
