As Julia Sidebottom communicated to Wendy Apgar's starship:
JS> As always it is good to hear from you... When times are
JS> tough it takes a lot of courage and perservence to focus on
JS> anything that can be pleasurable like our stamping!
I often find that what I need emotionally does't help
much physically. Sometimes that means that I do rubber
stamping beyond the point of being in too much pain.
But it does help to deal with the emotional since it is
something I really enjoy.
A friend told me yesterday that she saw an e-mail that
was talking about embossing powders being bad for your
health, but she looked at it the way I did...it's not
like we emboss for 8 hours at a time or work in a
room without ventilation. Besides, if it was going to
bother me it would have long before now!
JS> I have been stamping away as well as making 86 quilt
JS> blocks... I mailed out 50 the other day and should have
JS> another 36 ready today to mail... mail of course>...
That is a lot of quilt blocks. Do they take you much
time to do?
JS> Right now I am working on some cards that combine both
JS> RS'ing and Pergamano. I am having a whale of a time.
JS> I also have had a group of stamps made up here just
JS> recently and just finished mounting over 100 stamps.... now
JS> I am just going to put them to use...
I haven't learned much about Pergamano. I have heard it
talked about, but I didn't feel like learning anything
more at the time.
Mounting 100 stamps must have taken you some time. But
just think of all the fun you are going to have using
them! I find I'm a little envious. :-)
JS> I will also be thinking about just what stamps and
JS> supplies I will need to put in a carrying kit for going to
JS> the hospital... the kit I used before has been emptied and
JS> I need to get organized again... emergency>. I also will be being scheduled for surgery on
JS> my knee in the near future as soon as I am stable enough
JS> to handle the anaistesia .
I can understand how you feel. What kinds of problems do
you have with anesthesia? I know that I would much
rather have a local any day than a general. I have
major panic attacks at the thought of surgery without
a local. But there are surgeries when there is no other
choice. It is those times I definitely need a sedative!
Otherwise I don't take them (except in low doses for
my panic attacks now). Other than that I usually end
up throwing up afterwards. I hope I don't have to have
surgery on my foot any time soon. I know that I'm going
to have to have it inevitably, but I want to put it
off as long as possible.
When I was in the hospital for 2 weeks in March, I didn't
have any energy to do much of anything. Usually I am
someone that is always doing something. I cannot just
sit and watch a tv show...but in the hospital I couldn't
even read anything.
JS> I am also working on wedding invitations ... the bride
JS> is suppose to come by this afternoon so we can choose the
JS> embossing formula that she wants to use on her invitations
JS> as well as colors to be used on the Bride and Groom that
JS> she choose to put on the front of her invitations... She is
JS> also considering having me do some pressure embossing
JS> around the edging... we will have to see on that one... the
JS> cost will be much more for my labor is she really decideds
JS> to go that route.
I've not heard of pressure embossing. What is that?
JS> I know that the cards you are making will sell well for you! Be
JS> confident and good things will definitly be coming your way...
I'm looking at this positively. It will be a God-send when
money starts coming in. And the embossing powders that I
was gifted with will be so helpful!
